Yesterday we tracked the percussion and alto sax for our debut album. We are now recording guitar then we have just a few trumpet lines left to record before we go in on the vocals.

We have some very special guest vocalists lined up too.

It’s all coming together very nicely. We’re very proud of this album.

Urban Lions will be playing at Once Upon a Time in The West Festival next year.

More on this later.Ok my Lovelies... here come the first acts confirmed for Once upon a Time in the West Festival 2019. Before we go there, just a wee favour. As you may be aware, Once Upon a Time in The West Festival has been nominated by Festival Awards at UK Festival Awards 2018 for Best Small Festival and Best Grassroots Festival. If you could take a moment to vote for us, then that would be fantastic!! It's a really big nod of approval for all The Crew and the festival itself. Link is here - www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/NW3CN6N

Sooo - onto the moment...
The first wave of acts to be announced for 2019 are, in no particular order....
Funke and the Two Tone Baby
RSVP Bhangra
Urban Lions
Black Water County
Monkey Bizzle
The Boot Hill All Stars
and of course... Graveyard Johnnys !!!

You had a touch of Graveyard Johnnys earlier, so here's a bit of the mighty Black Water County

This weekend we've been Bristolways where we made a start on our debut album and caught up with Ripton (Eek A Mouse) for some of the finest biddy biddy bong bang action. Respect to one of the greatest Jamaican reggae artists to visit the south west of England.

Drums are down, bass and keys next.

A producer from BBC Wiltshire, where they're recording a version of WW1 classic 'Keep The Home Fires Burning' for remembrance, has asked us to put our feelers out for fellow musicians to join them.

They'll be recording in the Wiltshire Music Centre (Bradford on Avon) on Saturday 20th October. They've got a diverse line up of acts set to perform the song, and a brilliant community choir made up of some of their listeners on board, but they need a few last instruments to complete the orchestra!

They need:
2x viola
2x cello
bassoon
percussion

The project is unpaid, but they'll be covering the making of the song and those involved. It will be a great way to celebrate the musical talents of Wiltshire and Swindon. Please email if you're interested, wiltshireremembers@bbc.co.uk Thanks!

We'd like to say a big YESII! To everyone who skanked with us at The Golden Lion in Bristol last Friday all praise to the Golden Lion crew for having us back and to Patrick for a righteous sound. A special thanks to DJ Snoopy who got on stage with us for a toasting session with the band and Lionheart Records set afterwards. Also everyone at Urban Mischief stage at Illusive Festival the weekend before as we played a Lionheart Vibrations dubplate cuts set for the first time at our last festival of 2018.

Also big thanks to Matt Martin of Pressure Mastering for mixing and mastering our dub plates and to Byron's YARD for pressing them to such a high standard. Thanks to Joe from Conscious Youth for his melodica takes on a new Lionheart Vibrations dub mix of Forward To The Sound.

Alone we are small but Together Mighty.

We'll be heading to the very northern tip of the U.K. Next month to play Hootananny Inverness and we'll be announcing a few gigs up north along the way very soon.

In other news we'll be in the studio this weekend recording some demos for new releases inna dancehall style. The debut Album soon come.
